Bone fractures<\/a> typically occur during an accident because of the high impact or stress put on the bone, which causes it to break. Oftentimes this results in edema caused by torn blood vessels causing a large amount of pain. These fractures may also cause muscle spasms due to the body working to hold the bone fragments in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Skull Fracture<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A skull fracture<\/a> occurs when one of the eight bones composing the cranial portion of the skull is broken, thus creating a fracture.  This is typically a result of a great force striking the skull such as a steering wheel or dashboard during an auto accident.  It is often that these injuries result in concussions or brain injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Osgood Schlatter<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Osgood Schlatter is caused by the patellar tendon becoming irritated at the tibial tuberosity. This causes a lump to form just below the knee, at the tibial tuberosity.  Typically Osgood Schlatter is found in adolescents; however it can result from an impact during a car accident.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Elbow and Shoulder<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Elbow and shoulder problems are typically associated with arthritis and dislocation injuries.  They are commonly caused by auto accidents and may not appear for some time after an accident.  Common symptoms of these injuries include golfers elbow, tennis elbow, and olecranon bursitis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Knee and Hip<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Knee and hip injuries are similar to that of elbow and shoulder, as such they are also associated with arthritis and dislocated joint injuries. These may also cause injuries to the ACL, MCL, and PCL, just to name a few knee ligaments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
